About the Portuguese Muslim Community of Leicester

The Portuguese Muslim Community of Leicester (PMCL) is a registered community organisation serving Portuguese-speaking Muslims across Leicester and the wider Midlands. This website and its companion members portal are built and maintained by the PMCL committee to help our community stay connected, informed and engaged.

Our digital platform serves two main purposes. For the wider public, this website tells the story of our community, showcases upcoming events, and provides a way to get in touch or make a donation. For our members, a secure portal offers tools to manage membership, register for events, track payments and receive community announcements.

PMCL was founded by Portuguese-speaking Muslim families with roots in Portugal and Mozambique who have made Leicester their home. Today we are a thriving, registered community running regular meals, Eid celebrations, educational events and welfare support for members of all ages.
